Sunday 3rd August: Opening Ceremony & Welcome Reception (EICC) |

IPS 2008 will open on the Sunday evening at 17:00. The Opening Ceremony will take place in the Pentland Suite at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) and will include an Official Welcome to delegates from IPS, the Congress organisers, the Primate Society of Great Britain, and the City of Edinburgh. The session will include a photographic presentation by Cristina Mittermeier from International League of Conservation Photographers and the Congress will be opened by a special invited guest.

| Monday 4th August: Poster Reception (EICC) |

The first poster session of the congress will take place in the Cromdale Hall / Strathblane Hall and will be accompanied, from 18:00 to 19:30 by a drinks reception during which a bar will be available. |

Tuesday 5th August: Ceilidh (EICC) |

Do you know the difference between a Dashing White Sergeant and a Gay Gordon? Do you know how to Strip the Willow? No? Well discover the delights of Scottish Country Dancing at the IPS 2008 Ceilidh held in the Strathblane Hall on Tuesday evening from 20:00 to 23:00. Music will be from a traditional Ceilidh band and a caller will help you through the dances. There will be a cash bar. | Thursday 7th August: BBQ (Edinburgh Zoo) |

Take the opportunity to visit Edinburgh's famous zoo and its fascinating collection of primates and enjoy a BBQ at the same time. The zoo is opening on Thursday evening especially for the IPS 2008 delegates and their registered guests. You will also have the opportunity to look over the newly opened Living Links research centre; a unique facility in Europe. | Friday 8th August: Congress Dinner (Dynamic Earth) |

Sign off the congress in style by attending the Congress Dinner in the dramatic surroundings of the Stratosphere Hall at Dynamic Earth. The unique venue, excellent food, music and the fine company of your fellow delegates make this an ideal way to end IPS 2008 and ensure that you take home lasting memories of Edinburgh. Like some other events in the Social Programme spaces for the Congress Dinner will be limited and you will need to book early to avoid disappointment. Dress code: smart dress / lounge suit - but if you don't own either you won't be turned away! Tickets: £35 each.
