Sponsorship of IPS 2008

The Executive Committee for IPS 2008 is delighted to offer a range of opportunities to those wishing to sponsor the Congress. The packages we have put together offer an excellent opportunity for sponsors to support the Congress while, at the same time, promoting their services/products at this highly prestigious event.   As with all previous IPS congresses, the meeting will attract academic researchers, from those that study animal behaviour to biomedical researchers, and other relevant professionals such as conservationists, veterinarians, and managers of zoos and other captive animal populations. IPS congresses also attract research students, the primatologists of tomorrow. We are currently putting together an exciting programme with keynote speakers from the USA and Britain, plus oral and poster presentations from academics and practitioners from across the world.

Sponsorship of any size or concept is welcome and we will be pleased to discuss a sponsorship package to fit your individual requirements, from sponsoring a coffee break at £3,000, pads & pens at £3,000, to congress bags at £5,000, a congress lunch at £17,500, congress memory sticks at £8,000 or perhaps one of the social events taking place, such as pre-dinner drinks at the Congress Dinner at Dynamic Earth at £5,000.

We are confident that IPS 2008 in Edinburgh will be a resounding success and I hope that you and your organisation will play a part in this and, in turn, promote your organisation on a truly international as well as national stage.

Based on previous congresses, around 1100 participants are expected to attend IPS 2008, including:

  • Participants from universities worldwide including many American universities such as Chicago, California, Harvard, Stony Brook (NY), as well as Canadian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Australian, Indian, Brazilian, Ugandan, Kenyan and South African institutions - as well as those from British universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, St. Andrews, Stirling, Roehampton, Oxford Brookes, Liverpool, UCL, Portsmouth, Anglia Ruskin, Manchester, Chester, Liverpool John Moores.
  • Participants from leading conservation organisations such as Conservation International, Worldwide Fund for Nature, Flora & Fauna Preservation Society.
  • Participants running and working in genetics, immunoassay, microbiology and pathology laboratories.
  • Participants from major zoos such as the Zoological Society of London, Chester, Edinburgh and various American zoos, and other professionals concerned with animal welfare such as veterinarians.
  • Participants from leading natural history museums including the Field Museum, Chicago, the American Museum of Natural History (New York), the Smithsonian Museum (Washington), the Natural History Museum (London).

Cash or in-kind contributions are invited from organisations keen to:

  • Raise their profile and promote themselves or their products to primatologists.
  • Reach a large and influential audience of primatologists from around the globe.
  • Make contact with the next generation of primatologists worldwide

Each contribution will be prominently acknowledged in an appropriate manner.
